(00:00) [Music] well hi everybody it's great to be back and um great to be representing name base this year and um excited to share presentation with you guys so I'm going to share my screen all right so today I'm going to talk about some product updates and I'm going to do a couple of demos I'm going to start by refreshing especially newcomers about our mission vision and who our team is behind namebase I'm going to talk about the namebase registar and then go into some hns ID updates and then the presentation with
(00:50) what's next what are we up to next on name Bas so to start with our vision our vision since the beginning has been to enable freedom and safety on the internet our goal is to make handshake easy to use to enable mass adoption in the end and the way we are doing it right now is that we make it easy for anyone to buy sell and use handshake domains now this is not a solo project as you guys know there's a huge team behind so we have Fernando as our CTO myself as the product designer John our full stack engineer who has been in the
(01:34) project in the project since before the acquisition so he's a the OG there we have noar and Sam which are amazing blockchain engineers and then Chris and Nathan as our customer tech support doing a lot more for the community as well so in regards to the register right now personally when I got into handshake I thought it was like impossible to own a TLD but the first thing that came to my mind when owning a TLD would be kind of like a great way for a passive income right selling monetizing the tldd by selling slds off of it now for somebody
(02:21) that's not technical as myself the way we could do this would be to set up our own registry create our own register promote it and sell through there and by talking and and understanding that most of our customers are not techsavvy we came up with a solution a few years ago called the namebase registry now what this allows you to do is basically you can St your top level domain and sell domains through our trusted network of the registar partners which are pork pun name chief of course and in Circa now to give you some
(03:05) registry stat so far almost 800 tlds have been accepted by registar and there have been 2,645 tlds staked so far so there was there is a bit of a an issue here although not all TLD sell the main reason for that is because our Network registar have a discretion to choose which tlds they want to sell off of these almost 800 tlds is the main payment method and we believe that the more activity there is on chain the better it will be for
(04:10) handshake the ability to transfer in andout domains from our regist our partners meaning that for example if you own A.C name chip you can transfer it over to uh the name based registry and pay that with hns but most importantly we will accept except all stake tlds allowing any TLD owner to be able to sell slds and have the possibility to promote their business now I'm going to give you a quick demo of how this will look like all right so as you can see here this is the landing page where we have a search we talk a
(04:52) little bit about the power of handshake some of the popular tlds that have the most registrations but also recently added tlds to promote new tlds and new platforms and then a brief explanation of how it works how you can register and securely pay with hns and manage your domain here's an example of how it would look like to transfer an sld and as you can see there is a converter there showing hns something new that we added is the card but let's search for a domain first now another cool thing that we added was every TLD
(05:34) will have its own like mini search page so that you can use this link to promote on Twitter and other socials and start selling and promoting your tldd business so making it as easy as possible for you to grow your TLD business and as you can see there are a lot of options in this case I'm going to add this.
(06:01) C to the card and we can see a summary of all the domains the amount of years we want to register and set auto Renew on or off once you click pay these 250 hns will be deducted from your account and you'll be able to see your new sld manager within the sld manager you can obviously click on a domain see all the new settings main settings on top add DNS records us our name servers or have a custom name server and as well as DNS SEC ready to go and then on this particular example you're not able to transfer the domain out because it needs
(06:45) a specific period before it can be transferred over to another regist you can also add more years if you feel like it and I go from there so yeah this was like uh brief overview of um our new regist which is coming hopefully in a couple of weeks and I'm excited to finally share what we have been building in the past year now in regards to hsid hns ID is our decentralized second level domain solution uh it's truly decentralized as your TLD is anchored on on handshake but the slds are anchored on optimism and making it truly
(07:35) decentralized now giving you some stats on hns ID we have 48 tldd staked and 6,242 dsld sold thank you. wallet the the reason why we have so little is because and this has been a complaint from our customers as well is that it's hard to get optimism e it's not intuitive you need to buy ethereum you need to bridge ethereum to optimism and then you need to register the domain and understand the gas fees Etc so today I'm happy to announce that we've addressed this by adding the ability to register
(08:22) with a credit card and also other chains that I'll will demo in a second and for this we are using a third party application called cross Min and we had to do some custom work on the smart contracts but we believe that it's easier than ever to buy dsld on hns ID now the the second uh biggest feature I would like to announce is what we call the ens Alias so what the ens Alias is and this is more for the tldd owners is that that you resolve basically your domains through a e Alias on ethereum Main net it so it acts basically as a
(09:11) ccip Gateway for the domain to resolve on Main net but it's it's more than that it also allows for anld holder that has set records set wallet addresses photos so build his whole Pro profile to trans support these records from one chain to another so from optimism to ethereum mainnet which I believe is like the best the biggest power of setting up an ens Alias and in other news we're going to have a new premium TLD selling soon on hns ID which is web3 and we believe that there is um a good potential for this
(09:58) TLD to be as big or bigger than wallet and as you can see here the domain has been staked and it will probably launch soonish next week or in a couple of weeks if you're interested in reserving your do web free domain you can go to the hns ID Twitter where we have a post promoting the tldd and yeah if you if you want to have your name or your business reserved we can reserve that for you now for a demo all right so I'm here at this is our test website so none of these are all like fake and we're
(10:40) using optimism supp and here I would like to Demo First what it's like to register a domain with your credit card so oops maybe maybe not this one but I'll just go with my name for a dollar there you go now one of the things we wanted to address is what if this is a new wallet it has zero zero ethereum or optimism in it and you register a domain and then how could you update records or update your profile picture without having money to pay the gas fees so if your if your wallet has does not have funds this
(11:25) message will pop here and when you click register with cross me you'll have the ability to add an additional amount of ethereum for you to play around with the app set up records and kind of test how how the d d profile works I guess on hns ID one of our concerns was like what if somebody put like an extra thousand so it's easier to buy with credit card yeah we we basically set up limits here so you can add up to $10 so in this case I'm going to add five as a test once you click pay with cross Min cross Min model will pop
(12:06) up and you'll have the ability to enter your credit card or pay with another chain which is the beauty of this um of using cross Min so you can pay with on ethereum arbitrum base and optimism as well as polygon but you can also use a coins such as euroc usdc and ux US DXM apologies for that you can also connect your Phantom wallet if you choose to to do so so in this case I'm going to use our test credit card to register a domain can add my email for a receipt which you'll receive after it's been
(12:57) registered and yeah so now we just wait a minute may maybe a bit less hopefully yeah the domain will be on your domains list and you'll have the extra eth on your wallet so we will able to we will be able to see this once it has been done okay cool so thank you for your order this is how much you paid and it's delivered to my wallet so if I go back here and refresh the page give it a second you'll see that there you go the domain is in in my wallet so I can go to my domains and see that the domain is there
(13:40) and then you can also see in my metamask that I have the extra $5 that I can use to play around with with with hns ID basically now when you have a funded wallet this option will not appear you'll just be able to register the domain for the value that it is worth in regards to the nsls this is something that already works so as you see here I'm going to show my domain as an example my primary name as you see here I have like my profile record set have this image my website description all of my socials wallet
(14:28) addresses and DNS records and this is and this all works well and is here but as has the aliases setup it has an offchain alias which is the do ID and it has the onchain Alias which is the E if I go to another app for example .a and connect my wallet you'll see that my domain resolves there and if you go to my profile all of the records that I set up on hns ID will be transported into this app and this can happen to any app that uses evm and result the domains basically so you'll see the accounts description photo
(15:14) records it's all there so if you're a tldd owner and are considering to do to add an NS Lis this is sort of the power that it adds not only that you can also for example go to this wallet which has no money but I could send money to ns. ID which should show up here there you go or e oh it's not there but it should be there um regardless this is the power of hns ID and the ens Alas and and finally what's next what's next for us we have some exciting features that we're going to work on um
(16:02) mainly to promote uh Marketplace and and facilitating the ability to sell domains but we are also working on the background we haven't shared this yet and I won't share it just yet but working on some products to add more utility to handshake so one of the highest requested features and these are the two that I'm going to present are portfolios right so we see a lot of people on Telegram and Discord sharing like spreadsheets with domains and maybe just a 20 links all at once and basically these portfolios help you organize
(16:45) organize them and create a sharable link that you can just share your portfolio link with all the domains you're interested in selling or just showcasing a pfolio privately which can also be the case so another exciting news is that we're working on user auctions so these are offchain auctions that are set by users and anybody with tlds will be able to basically set this set a domain as a secondary option and sorry about that and you'll see that it has a a different design with the goal of depreciating

(18:13) exactly hi Alex any hope of a tldd paay promotion on name base um it's not in our plans but it it can be considered the the the features that we we work on things like uh the the registar the Fiat payments on hsid portfolios these are all suggestions that came from you guys the community and so we are always open to suggestions and like feature requests if it will be built or not it has to do with the demand but we are always open to suggestions so why not why not promote TDs is a transfer for sldd similar to
(18:57) other registers yes so you need to go to the other regist unlock the domain it will give you an off code and um the one the one I showed on the the demo has um an input field that's where you should add your authentication code to verify that you you are the owner and in fact transferring it over so yeah it works basically like a traditional EP register and um Tod r and what's the average sld price across all tlds it varies a lot we have tlds priced at $100 per year the ones that are at $2 $3 it it V it varies a lot I would say I
(19:45) I don't know the average the the ones I sted I priced them really low because I believe that there's not as much capabilities as an I can domain right now so if people are willing to pay I think that's that's great so it's up to the tldd owner we do not demand you to have a certain price we will never do that that's up to you and now we're giving the tools for any TLD owner that has St their TLD to be able to promote their business hence like this the the specific tldd search page and um um also

(21:13) okay when can we expect to lock in a ledger and namebase compatibility and steal the owners to safeguard our assets I I I don't have the answer to this one I'll need to get back to you Miguel is there any stronger marketing from name chap on the horizon what do you mean like will we have their support in marketing I think that's yeah I think that's the angle will be maybe the website looks good is there going to be like a renewed um expansion or attending of events or or any strategic marketing on the horizon yeah so one of
(21:51) the things that we are planning to do is more Community talks um like specifically from name base to talk about handshake in general name base concerns you may have ideas you may want to share so this is something that we are planning to do and and for now that's the marketing strategy that we'll um be working on if there's going to be marketing support from name ch um there's no definite answer sorry will name CH will name base have a letterer app no we will not have a letter app sorry encrypted is there going to be any paid
(22:32) promotion priority in listings I mean it's not in the plans but if it's if it's requested we'll definitely look into it so we're always open to to ideas and is yes and any plan on any plan how to combat free names marketing wave for example no I think they're they're different organizations right where freen name is is effectively like its own protocol for maybe that's not the right word but they're their they're their own name system whereas name base is a is a a portal to the handshake blockchain right
(23:11) a way to interact with it in addition to being a registar is that a fair analogy I mean yeah I guess like for for us the goal is is to make it easy for you to use handshake manage your handshake assets all within one platform right this is more of a custodial way of managing your handshake assets if you want the non-custodial way you can go and the the B Bob wallet route which I think is pretty cool and I also use it so I I I would say that the goal for name base is to make it easy to use exactly always has been um all right
(23:54) and then I do believe that there are some API tools that are available right or thisas yes there are some AP there are API tools I don't have the link here but I'll I'll share it later so that you can interact in an easier way W with with with the auctions get get more data and there's also the hns ID um I wouldn't call it API it's a it's a subgraph that was built that will help you also get data from from hns ID domains that have been registered I believe Shak shift who presented yesterday is using one of the
